Bikes + Beer + Live Music = Fun!
Love kicking back to an incredible meal with a cold beverage and live music after an incredible ride? These 2022 BikeADK events will feature all three.
Sunday, July 17 - Ride for the River
Ride for the River returns for its 12th year this summer with the optional 20 mile Tailgater ride on Saturday July 16, and the flagship event on Sunday, July 17 featuring 30 and 45 mile route option from beautiful Lake Everest Beach. After the ride, the fun continues with live music from the Doghouse Carpenters, catering from the pros at Porkbusters and thirst quenching ice cold draft beer from Great Adirondack Brewing Company.
This fun annual fundraiser directly supports the important work of the nonprofit Ausable River Association to protect the clean waters, healthy streams, biodiverse habitats, and scenic beauty of the Ausable River watershed.
July 29-31 - Weekender at Paul Smith's College
Its 14,000 acre lakeside campus is perfect hub for you to explore the beautiful Saranac Lake region by bicycle. But this event is so much more. It's a waterfront campfire with a guitar and friends. It's a few paddle strokes on a pristine pond while listening to the enchanting call of a loon. It's drinking in crisp forest smells while strolling a boardwalk along a nearby bog. It's a personally guided tour of a Historic Great Camp that once served as a summer retreat for President Calvin Coolidge and his family.
And best of all, we kick off the event on Friday, July 29 with a BBQ, craft beer and live music by the lakeside campfire featuring music by High on the Hog. In fact, band members Tyler Dezago and Marion Hoelzel are graduates of the college.
September 24 - Handlebarley Gravel Tour
This mixed surface ride hosted at Paradox Brewery has it all, the best of which is that 95% of the route is on rural southern Adirondack backroads. You'll experience everything from smooth rolling paved terrain to gravel roads that see more horse than vehicle traffic. In addition to the original 42-mile route, we've added a new 20-mile out-and-back route to Elk Lake Lodge. Or you can combine the two for one damn good (and big) day.
Wrap it up with a delicious Paradox craft beer, endless pizza and salad and live music by Margarita Mike and you've got one heck of a fall day.
October 8 - Bike The Barns
After a two-year break, Bike the Barns returns on Saturday, October 8 with a casual tour of the stunning Champlain Valley agricultural landscape. Hosted at The Hub on the Hill, this 25-30 mile ride includes tours of Reber Rock, Juniper Hill and Echo Farms and culminates with a finish line celebration complete with local foods, craft beverages, and live music in a beautiful outdoor setting overlooking the Adirondack and Green Mountains. And best of all, your registration supports Adirondack North Country Association's important work to bolster local food systems in order to drive economic growth, reduce food insecurity and contribute to positive community and health outcomes.
