This family friendly celebration of the Adirondack Rail Trail will showcase the natural landscape, communities and businesses along the corridor with a fun-filled day of activities, food and live music.

During this daylong celebration of the Adirondack Rail Trail, participants will have the opportunity to join in stewardship projects and explore the trail with an interactive scavenger hunt featuring some very cool prizes. The day culminates with an early evening party featuring craft breweries, food vendors, live music and a raffle.
Best of all, proceeds support the Adirondack Rail Trail Association and their efforts to help people of all ages and abilities enjoy the landscape, history and natural beauty of the rail trail corridor and its communities.

Scavenger Hunt Details
The Scavenger Hunts can be completed any time throughout the day. Participants will pick up their cards at on-site registration located at Riverside Park.
Short: 1-2 miles in the Village of Saranac Lake
Medium: 20 miles out-and-back from Saranac Lake to Lake Placid
Long: 30 miles out-and-back from Saranac Lake to Floodwood Rd
Volunteer Service Project Details
Participants are also invited to join optional volunteer service projects that will take place between 10a-12p at various points along the corridor. Sign up will happen during the event registration process and exact details will be emailed to each volunteer service project participant in advance of Adirondack Rail Trail Community Day. Each project is guided by a leader and all tools and materials will be provided.
Culvert Clearing
To protect the trail from erosion and flooding, culvert intakes need to be cleared of leaves, sticks, and gravel.
Debris Removal
The task here is to remove debris from the side of the trail, such as downed trees, to clear the area for mowing.
Ditch Cleaning
In order to prevent erosion, this project will require pulling sticks, rocks and other obstructions that may impede the designed flow of water.
Timber Rail Treatment
This task involves painting a Copper Coat on the timber railing installed along the trail.
Invasive Species Removal
This project entails removal of Purple Loosestrife and Oriental Bittersweet from along the corridor.

What is the Adirondack Rail Trail Association?
The Adirondack Rail Trail Association (ARTA) is a trail-town not-for-profit organization that represents and promotes the business and municipal interests along the 34-mile Adirondack Rail Trail. Founded in 2010, ARTA has represented over 13,000 citizens, 400 businesses, and six representative governments in the effort to get this world-class all season trail to the construction stage.
What does registration include?
Registration includes:
- A scavenger hunt card to complete while exploring the Adirondack Rail Trail during the event. Cards will enter you into a drawing to win prizes.
- An event gift pack
- A free raffle ticket

What is the bad weather plan?
The event will be hosted rain or shine with an indoor contingency plan for the event party in the event of severe weather.
What is the refund/transfer policy?
This event is a fundraiser for the Adirondack Rail Trail Association and the policy is as follows:
- Refunds of any amount do not include BikeReg service fees.
- 100% if requested 60 or more days before the event.
- 50% if requested between 60-30 days before the event.
- Refunds are not available if requested less than 30 days before the event. However, the registration can be transferred to another person or credited toward a future event.
- If the event is canceled by organizers, 100% refunds will be issued or registrations can be deferred to the following year.
