So Much More Than A Bike Tour

The right mix of activity and relaxation

What a Weekender!

Sure, the cycling was incredible, but then there was a Great Camp tour, live music, sunset educational talk, canoeing, hiking, and so much s'more!

It's true, the 2022 Weekender at Paul Smith's College featured three days of glorious Adirondack backroads, but the off-bike fun may just have matched the riding fun factor. Of course, Mother Nature did her part with pretty darn perfect weather, but we'll thank the big group from Vermont for bringing that ;)

Whether it was the silly sendoff from Bobcat Reggie to bowling at the summer home of Calvin Coolidge, or an afternoon canoe trip on Lower St. Regis Lake or a guided hike at the Paul Smith's College VIC, there was a little bit of everything packed into the perfect pace that brought joy, relaxation and a whole lotta smiles. Like these:

Weekender check-in with only be best check-in team. Free sock guy footies with registration. You bet! The new BikeADK temporary tattoos where a big hit. A first time for the Weekender: Camping as a lodging option. RVs and Campers (with puppies) also welcome. The BikeADK super team of Julianne, Jim and Mike in sendoff mode. Of course, no Weekender ride sendoff is complete with out Reggie. No joke, this guy is named Paul Smith. Welcome to Paul Smith's, Paul Smith. Send us off, Reggie! A group of riders takes a guided tour of historic White Pine Camp. Bowling on a bike tour? Why not when you're touring a Great Camp. Weekender riders walk across a wooden bridge at White Pine Camp after checking out the island tea house. Backroad bliss to kick off Day 1 of the Weekender at Paul Smith's College. Smooth sailing back to campus on Day 1. Almost BBQ time. Smile and Smitty On. It's BBQ time. Live music by High on the Hog by the campfire closes out a perfect opening day. OK, live music, a campfire and s'mores closes out a perfect opening day. Even low clouds couldn't spoil a roll on Norman Ridge to kick off Day 2. The fresh pavement helped too. Sit back, relax and Weekender on. Why have a rest stop at a Farmer's Market, when you can have a rest stop at a Farmer's Market with fresh blueberries. No ride is complete without an awesome rest stop team. The folks from the Saranac Lake Youth Center are exactly that team. Secure bike parking by CycleSafe at the Saranac Lake Farmer's Market rest stop. BikeADK owner Doug Haney works the merch tent at the Saranac Lake Farmer's Market. Rolling back to campus through Lake Clear on Day 2. Saturday afternoons on the Weekender are for canoeing and hiking. Ride apres is just a bit different during the Weekender at Paul Smith's College. Tom Collins of the Adirondack Watershed Institute leads an interactive discussion on their important conservation work.
