Ride Spot: Ausable Chasm
Our ride spotlight takes us to Ausable Chasm. Maintained by the local Chasm Riders club and Ausable Chasm (which is a massive waterfall attraction you absolutely should tag onto your ride) this 20-mile network is total rock n' roll.
Seriously, trail names include Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer. But don't let the heavy metal vibe scare you away. The vast majority of this network is incredibly tame and perfect for those new to mountain biking. Translation: if you're a hard tail enthusiast, you'll absolutely fly at Ausable Chasm.
During "normal" summers, Chasm Riders hosts a regular race series and when the snow flies, the network is perfect for both fat biking and cross country skiing.
A complete trail map is available on TrialForks or you can find it (and other nearby networks like Otis Mountain) by using the Find a Ride feature HERE.
Oh, and we stashed a stack of free BikeADK stickers in the trail registry box. Grab 'em while you can. We've been loving our stuff from Sticker Mule, our go-to sticker maker.
EDITORS NOTE: The Champlain Valley is flush with incredible road biking routes as well, especially when they finish at Ausable Brewing in Keeseville.
