When 45 cycling enthusiasts get together for a weekend of riding in the Adirondacks, it's going to be fun. Rain be damned. 

Did we ride in the rain? You bet we did, and we stopped for twisted vanilla and honey cinnamon ice cream at Donnelly's Ice Cream to boot. But that's just one highlight. Others included a rest stop a Paul Smith's College, another at Norman Ridge Farmstead, plus miles of amazing riding featuring the rolling and scenic terrain around Saranac Lake. Toss in a lovely stay at the Saranac Waterfront Lodge, happy hour featuring Paradox Brewery craft beer, wellness services by River Stone Wellness, plus a lot of laughs and we had one heck of a good time.

The Saranac Waterfront Lodge, our host for the Adirondack Women's Weekend. Now this was a group who knows how to have fun. Especially while riding bikes. Personalized name tags for the welcome dinner. Why not? Of course, the event features safe, secure indoor bike storage with help from our friends at CycleSafe. BikeADK is a family company as owner Doug Haney and his personal peloton great you at registration. Rental bikes - even ebikes - are definitely available. Like this one. Wellness Services from River Stone Wellness were added for 2023 and will definitely be back for 2024. Apparently BikeADK does birthdays. This crew was a lot of fun. Meet your BikeADK cycling guides + pro cheerleaders. A fine dinner on the Boathouse Pub terrace to kick off the weekend. Dinner on the patio is a welcome way to start a weekend. OK, it rained on Saturday. We still rode and had a lot of fun. See. This is fun. Pro cheerleader, Liesl, bringing the fun to the rain. When you're wet, you're wet. Smile definitely not damp. Almost to Paul Smith's College. Cruising onto Paul Smith's College campus for a rest stop. What ride is complete without ice cream. And Donnelly's always tastes great. Even in the rain. Riders gather outside the Saranac Waterfront Lodge for dry day or pedaling the park. There were a lot of great smiles on the tour. This one especially. Gearing up to ride on Sunday from the Saranac Waterfront Lodge. See those paddle boards. Yes, you could use them after the ride. Kat from Play ADK welcomes riders to the future home of the Adirondacks first Children's Museum. Riders pedal away from the future home of Play ADK en route to Norman Ridge Farmstead. Guides Julianne and Mike "direct" traffic. Quite the view from Norman Ridge Farmstead. Fresh watermelon and other goodies at the rest stop. Like we said, a lot of great smiles. If the ceiling was a little higher, this view would have featured a stunning look at Whiteface Mountain from Norman Ridge Farmstead. There is something very cool about this peloton. More smiles. And more smiles. On BikeADK rides, no one gets lost. Good signage is key to a worry free ride. Heading along the Saranac River back to Saranac Lake. And that's a wrap. With more smiles. This crew may very well be debating riding the route again. Time for a swim and sadly to say goodbye after a great weekend. A little relaxation on the Saranac Waterfront Lodge patio before we go.
